Participating in the Writing Mentor Program (WMP) is just one of the great benefits of being a CCC student. While working on college applications in their final year with CCC, Senior students are matched with a volunteer writing mentor. These writing mentors help students with their personal essay, supplemental application essays, extracurricular lists, and even their resumes before finally submitting their applications.
The writing mentors are usually Americans who have gone through the US college application process themselves. Their role in the WMP is more than just helping their mentee with their writing; mentors also give advice about the entire application process, motivate their mentees to keep working hard, and even share personal anecdotes about being a college student in the US.
We asked the CCC Seniors to tell us the best parts of their experience working with their writing mentor. Check out some of their answers below!
